After completing Dragon Age II, many people we know displayed their disappointment about the storyline and the lack of adventure experienced, but their love of the dynamic element of the fighting and the companions.
There is no official news about the production of the new Dragon Age game (other than it is happening), however we can get a good idea, simply by looking at the past games. We can safely assume that there will be a combination of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II.
We can also believe that they will be reverting back to being able to swap pieces of the armour of your companions, something you were unable to do in the second game. Mike Laidlaw claims that this would not alter the appearance of the character, just the performance. This is because they feel, "...That the strong visual identity given to characters by iconic appearances is an important part of their identity." [link] .
According to David Gaider and Laidlaw, the protagonist may be a completely new one altogether, however, it is believed that we have not seen the last of our friends Warden and Hawke. Possibly indicating that we will be meeting them either on the battlefields of Antiva, or the courts of Orlais.
It is believed that Bioware have been trying out Bethesda's new Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and is considering it for inspiration, possibly indicating the potential introduction of the open-world system to Thedas.
It has been confirmed that you will be able to import both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 into the third installment, to ensure your world fits together consistently.
What do you think about this, and what additional features do you wish/believe they will add? We'd love to hear your thoughts on this!
